Hello folks! It’s the last day of August and I have lots to update you on!
Firstly, thanks for bearing with me this week. I took some time off for some camping and hiking in the Lake District. Then I went up to Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival and a softball tournament. The good news is that my team went 6-1, but lost in the semi-final. The bad news is that I struck out looking on my first at-bat of the tournament, and then slipped over running between the bases to end the next game. As a result, I was named ‘Dick of the Day’ after just two games and had to wear some traditional Scottish attire for the rest of the weekend. 😒
Next up is one for all the students out there. On Friday we’ll be publishing a giant list of internships for this fall and next summer at organizations around the world. Tomorrow marks one year since I launched the paywall for Inside The Newsroom. While I absolutely hate charging anyone for anything, it was a necessary move to keep Inside The Newsroom going at an affordable price. I have so much to say about the past year, but it’s too much for this newsletter. So I’ll elaborate more tomorrow.
And finally, we have a ton of new jobs added to the board, and will be continuing to add plenty more throughout the day. So do keep checking back. We’ll return to a normal schedule next week with the next update coming on Monday.
