✍️ Journalism Awards, Events and Fellowships Deadlines ✍️ — September 22

Hello folks, it’s that time of the week! I’m getting ready for a weekend in the Spanish mountains, so I’ll keep this short and sweet.

Thanks to some great feedback from you all, I’ve altered the format of our listings to categorize them by type, instead of only date and deadline. Hopefully this makes it easier and quicker to identify what you’re looking for, whether it’s fellowships, events/training or awards.

Some of my favourites added this week include OCCRP’s first ever Research & Data Fellowship Program, the American Copy Editors Society’s scholarships, and the Oxford Climate Journalism Network. Check them and dozens more out below.

Also check out Tuesday’s media news roundup, as we looked at Gannet’s new Taylor Swift and Beyoncé reporting roles; UK broadcasters’ new free streaming app; how Australian politicians are rallying around Julian Assange; the creator of NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series leaving NPR; essential tips on the art of salary negotiation; and lessons learned from The New York Times Print Hub.

If you want full access to more than 1,500 journalism jobs and internships in the U.S., UK, Canada and Europe, you can do so by becoming a paid subscriber below. Join on a monthly, annual or lifetime basis.

I’m pleased to see that another subscriber received a complimentary six-month paid subscription. This particular subscriber is currently in her final year at university and actively looking for internships and entry-level jobs. She shared her unique code (click the button below for yours) with her class and eight people signed up. And now she’s only two more signups away from receiving an entire year completely free. 🎉

And lastly, if you have a job or internship you’d like to promote, now or in the future, we can help. Take advantage of our paid promotion slots like The Hechinger Report below by filling out this quick form.

That’s all from me this week, enjoy your weekends everybody! 👋
