This one’s an Internship Special — and the calendar is already doing that early-autumn thing where Summer 2027 suddenly feels close.
Every year there’s a quiet week when the big programs reappear: Washington Post, Dow Jones, Fox, the FT in New York, Hearst in Houston and San Francisco, plus UK and Europe apprenticeships that don’t show up on a single campus careers board. Miss that window and you’re refreshing closed tabs in November. Catch it and you have options.
Right now there are almost 100 internships live on the Job Board. Below are 20 to start with — U.S. newsroom programs mixed with UK and Europe placements — chosen because the deadlines are real and the work is journalism, not “fetch us coffee.” If one of these fits, treat this week as the application week. Deadlines are already clustering for Summer 2027 — if a role looks right, treat this week as the application window, not a bookmark for later. Paid vs unpaid still varies by country and outlet, so read the listing carefully. And early-career doesn’t only mean current students: a lot of these program also welcome recent grads.
